Zama Is Hiring!

Tech Lead, Product Integrations

About

Zama is the fastest-growing confidentiality protocol for on-chain finance.

By leveraging Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), it enables digital assets to be issued, managed, and traded privately on existing public blockchains such as Ethereum and Solana.

Founded by FHE pioneer Dr. Pascal Paillier and entrepreneur Dr. Rand Hindi, Zama brings together one of the world’s largest teams of FHE researchers and engineers and supports a global ecosystem of developers building confidential applications. zama.org

Job Description

Zama makes Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) practical at scale. The Zama Protocol brings FHE to blockchain, enabling confidential smart contracts on any L1 or L2. The Product Integrations team owns the Zama SDK, the high-level developer abstraction that lets wallets, custodians, exchanges, and dApps add confidential token support (ERC-7984) to their existing products without needing to understand the cryptography underneath.

We are looking for a Tech Lead, Product Integrations, to be the technical centre of gravity for the team. Your job is to take the Zama SDK from public beta to a production-grade release that wallets, custodians, and financial infrastructure can confidently integrate against, and to operate as a peer to the other tech leads in the Product division.

Key responsibilities:

  • Technical Direction: Own the architecture across the Zama SDK and example apps. Make the calls on API design, dependency choices, code organisation, and the technical roadmap.

  • Blockchain Leadership: Be the team's depth on wallet, custody, and EVM. Own the architectural decisions where the SDK meets signers, smart contract wallets, account abstraction, and the wider EVM tooling ecosystem.

  • Partner Integrations: Lead strategic technical integrations with our most important ecosystem partners. Run POCs, debug integration friction with partner engineers, translate what you learn back into SDK improvements, and drive down time-to-first-success for new partners.

  • Technical Taste: Raise the bar on code quality and architecture. Identify where duplication, inconsistency, and weak abstractions are slowing us down, and lead the refactors that fix them.

  • AI-Native SDK: Treat AI agents such as Claude Code and Codex as a first-class consumer of the SDK alongside human developers. Shape API ergonomics, types, errors, and agent-facing surfaces accordingly.

  • Mentorship: Coach the engineers on the team and the ones we hire next. Set standards through code review, RFCs, and pairing. Carry out hands-on work yourself when senior judgment is needed in the code.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other teams in the wider Product division and Blockchain/Engineering division on shared standards, dependencies, and multi-chain plans.

Preferred Experience

Must-have

  • 10+ years of professional engineering experience, with a clear track record of technical leadership in your most recent roles.

  • A track record leading a TypeScript-heavy SDK or developer-facing framework that other engineers had to integrate against, with API design choices you can explain and defend.

  • Deep wallet and custody plumbing experience. You have shipped production code that handles key management, transaction signing, account abstraction, smart contract wallets, MPC custody, or embedded wallet flows.

  • Strong fluency in EVM and Solidity, with the ability to read and reason about smart contracts (ERC standards, gas, audit posture) and the off-chain tooling that interacts with them.

  • Daily use of agentic coding tools and a real opinion on how they change SDK and developer tool design.

  • Comfort working directly with partner engineers: debugging integrations live, translating constraints, and unblocking external teams.

  • Exceptional communication skills across audiences, from cryptographers to product engineers to partner stakeholders.

Nice-to-have

  • Direct experience with confidential or privacy-preserving blockchain tech (FHE, ZK, MPC), or a strong willingness to learn.

  • Open-source maintainership of a developer tool or SDK with real external users.

  • Prior experience in a forward-deployed, partner engineering, or technical DevRel role at a blockchain infrastructure or wallet company.

  • Comfort with multi-chain integration patterns across EVM L2s, and ideally non-EVM (Solana).
